Dental implants are a permanent way of replacing missing teeth and they feel, work and look very much like your own teeth.
They are medical grade titanium posts which are placed in the jaw bone and allowed to bond with the bone. Once the implant is placed, we wait 3 months while it binds to the bone. The implant is finally restored with a white crown to look like a natural tooth.
Implants can be used to replace single teeth, multiple teeth or even a full upper or lower jaw.
Patients will need to be medically fit to be able to have implants. Often a CT scan (3D x-ray) will be required prior to placement. This will require a referral being sent by us.
We can also offer the All-on-four system as well as zygomatic implants for patients who have little bone remaining and only a few teeth left.
All implant cases are assessed and planned individually to the patient. A FREE 30 minute consultation is offered to assess suitability and allow patients to ask questions, discuss any concerns and investigate treatment options.
It is very important to maintain a routine of good oral hygiene following an implant to make sure the surrounding teeth and gums stay healthy. If you follow the advice of your dentist and hygienist carefully, your implant will last for many years.
